Dan White is a founding partner and CEO at Filament Games, a mission-driven learning game development studio that creates playful experiences that improve people’s lives. Founded in 2005, Filament Games employs 40 people and has developed over 100 learning games. White earned an MS in Educational Communications and Technology from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and a BS in Communication Technologies from Cornell University. During his tenure at UW, White worked with leading games and education researchers, Dr. Kurt Squire and Dr. James Gee. White serves on the advisory board for Games for Change and is a founding member of the Games Learning Society organization at UW-Madison. He has presented on the business and design of learning games at numerous conferences, including Games for Change, SXSWedu, Games Learning Society, EdNet, the Serious Games Summit, the European Conference on Games Based Learning and the SIIA Ed Tech Industry Summit.
With the recent new entrants, new platforms, and new technologies, it’s a fascinating time for this space from a business perspective.
